May 19 Pictures
Note: this is a temporary page because the original
page received so many hits that the site provider shut it down for the
day. |
|

Picture shot from the
lawn, some distance from the main area where the speakers were. The
speakers and entertainers are in the center area, behind the stone wall. |

Another shot from the
lawn. |

Above: The signs of these
protestors say (right) "Wake Up America," and the words are
repeated in French, below. The top sign says no to "Apathy."
The poster's
sign (left) says, Bush Lost! And Is Lost!" |
 |

Above: This
is "the wall." It is living art that asks,
"Election 2000--What are You Going to Do About It?" Protestors
were invited to write or draw on a square what they were going to do
about Election 2000. The squares were made up like a patchwork quilt. |

This protestor did not
address the question but nevertheless made a point. |

At the end of the protest
I was lucky enough to catch up to entertainer Rande Harris to tell him
how much I liked his music.
This is Rande and his guitar--which looks to have seen a protest or
two-- heading to the departure point after the march. |
